Oct. 12, 2014 Two strip quilt that I made
This is a top that I made for a charity quilt for my guild. I handed it in at our Sept. meeting so hopefully now someone will do the quilting of it.
Wow, we are Oct. 12 already. How did that happen?
Still having warm days. Night cool down. Had snow early in September but it has been nice since then.
Happy thanksgiving to all. We are have our son and his girlfriend for mid day dinner tomorrow. Happy quilting to all.
Take care of yourself.

guild show and tell. Sept. 20, 2014
Another show and tell from guild meeting. We still have warm weather. We were having a problem with lines developing on our t.v. screen so went out yesterday and bought a new 50". Hubby does love the big screen. I kind of like it too. I now have 6 placemats quilted for my secret pal for Christmas. I just have the binding left to apply.
I made 6 hexie placemats for my brother as well. I will try to put the pictures up soon.
Happy quilting everyone.

guild show and tell 2014
This is a quilt from my guild show and tell. Hard to believe that the summer is almost done. My Mom sold her house and is moving back to Midland, Ontario. The town I did most of my grewing up in. A big change for her at 81. Hope all goes well.
Off to library this morning. Happy quilting to all.

guild quilt July 12
Another guild quilt. Had a great visit yesterday with Dave's cousin her daughter and her 2 grandkids. Newest one is 2 months old. Cute little guy is Ryder. Locklyn is still just as cute. He rode on the garden tracker and went in the boat in our pond with Dave.
Got down to my sewing room late in the evening. I am at present working on my hexies.
I have one 4" butterfly made and am working on a second one to back one with the other for a centre piece for the table.
Happy quilting,
:)Carol

garage and recycle bin paintings
Outdoor paintings by my daughter, Jennifer. The big one is on the side of a garage. The grouch is on our recycle box. She has also been painting alot of new bird houses. They are all over the yard.
Had a really nice day for Canada Day. Chris and Sara came of dinner and then Chris made a bedside table for his room after dinner. Cooked a wild meat roast. Likely deer. It was given to us and not labelled so I am not sure if it was deer or elk. It was good what ever it was.
Good a little bit of sewing done. I am working on paper pieced airplanes for the quilt I am working on for my hubby. This should be the last border. I am quilting it as I go so when I get these borders done the quilt will be done.
Happy quilting to all, and Happy Canada day for yesterday.

craft guild show and tell June 2014
This is a photo from my craft guild potluck show and tell. Samples of my zentangle, a fabric bowl. cross-stitch cardinal for a chair pad done for my Mom. and a friendship centre piece. Centre piece was a gift to me. I did the same embroidered middle and made a table runner for the exchange. The one in the photo was made for me in the exchange.
The cross-stitch was done using a wet and pull away canvas.
Hard to believe that it is June 27 already. Where does the time go. Even when I am not going out to a job the days are passing very quickly. I had some time in my sewing room earlier this morning.
Happy quilting.

raffle quilt
This is a picture of the top which was made by Dalemead Quilting Guild. My guild. We are having a quilt show in Oct. and this is the raffle quilt that we are selling tickets on for the show. A wonderful quilt. Especially close up. The guild needs to replace funds for the amount of charity quilts made last year that were donated to the High River/Calgary flood victims.
Happy quilting....:)Carol

mini quilt and charity top in progress
Hard to believe that the last time I posted to this blog was Feb. We were away for almost 2 months but I didn't realize it had been so long. Anyway. Here are 3 pictures. The front and back of a mini quilt I made as part of a challenge with my guild for our quilt show in Oct. 2014. The middle photo is a charity quilt I have in progress. I now have 2 rows sewn together and 3 more seams of the other 3 rows left to sew. So it is coming along.
I will try to blog more often in future. Happy quilting to all.
