tinner block/ mystery step one

Another tinner block Online mystery, step one. Here it is March 26 already, where does the time go. I have been reorganizing my sewing space so that I have a desk that I can leave my fairly new embroidery machine set up on. This will allow me to do more embroidery. It is a very big job to do this reorg as my sewing room is very unorganized at the moment and contains alot of stuff. I also have a quilt to finish up before April 23 so I can take it to Ontario to give to a girlfriend that is surviving breast cancer. I already have it basted and the label is ready to be sewn on, then I will do some machine quilting and make the binding. Hope I have enough time to finish this for her. We are about to go out for a walk with the dog so this will be it for now. Happy quilting everyone. :)Carol

C&C BOM 4 more blocks

These are 4 blocks to the BOM that I am making from my local quilt shop. I am finished 3 days of my 5 in a row. Just the weekend to go and I get 2 days off. Happy quilting to all. :)Carol

crazy quilt block for "1970's theme"

These are the first 2 blocks for the "1970's theme" of the tinner exchange I am working on at my guild. I did the spiderweb block. Had a very busy day at work today. Then rushed to UofC with daughter and hubby for an information night. Jenn is starting on her degree in Sept. Wants to go into ecology but has to start with natural science major and change later. Entrance average for the ecology degree is 90% this year. She has an 81% average so she made a change and was accepted. She can change over later in the 4 years if she still wants to do so. Happy quilting. :)Carol

zendoodle ruler holder

My daughter made me a ruler holder for my birthday and did zendoodle to decorate it. I really like it. I finally have it on my cutting table with several rulers in it. Thanks, Jenn. I don't think that I will be making it to my sewing room today. It is already 7:24pm and I have other things to do. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. :)Carol

Hard to believe that I have not posted since Nov. We did have Dave's dad pass away on Dec. 13 and then in Jan. we went to Florida for a month. Hubby had a kidney stone removed in Feb and the I got a cold. So I guess maybe my life has slowed down a little. I will try to post more often. I have lots of pictures that I can post. So hopefully......time will tell. Happy quilting/Happy St. Paddy's day/ Happy quilting day. :)Carol

3 blocks from retreat

These are blocks I made at the retreat I was at this month. Top one is my christmas block for my guild potluck. Block on left is a friendship block for a guild member and right hand block is for a friends 60th birthday. Quilt beside my block was made by a guild member at the retreat for her daughter.

Need to sew today. Off to work again starting tomorrow. Happy quilting, Carol

butterfly half square triangles

I was given a bunch of half square triangles plus extra material one year from the person that had me as a secret pal. If finally found a design that I likes and set up the blocks as in this picture. I now have them all sewn together with a border around them. Unsure if I am going to add more borders or not.

*******

I'll have to think about how big I want it. It would make a nice centre piece at the size that it is now. Happy quilting, Carol
